Meithrin Plant y Dyfodol ar Wreiddiau ein Gorffennol

Nurturing Children of the Future on the Foundations of our Past

Agorwyd drysau’r ysgol hon gyntaf ym 1951 i 19 o ddisgyblion ar lethrau Pontygwaith, y Rhondda Fach, ar ol blynyddoedd o ymgyrchu brwd i sicrhau addysg Gymraeg yng Nghwm Rhondda. Symudwyd yr ysgol i Lwyncelyn yn 1979 ac ers hynny mae’r ysgol wedi mynd o nerth i nerth, ac yn parhau i gynyddu mewn niferoedd.Ar hyn o bryd mae gennym 307 o blant yn yr ysgol, ac mae’r dalgylch yn ymestyn i Ynyshir, Porth, Llwyncelyn, Aberllechau, Glynfach, Cymer, Trabannog a Threhafod.

The school first opened its doors in 1951 to 19 children on the precarious hills of Pontygwaith, Rhondda Fach, after years of campaigning for Welsh education in the Rhondda Valleys. The school moved location in 1979 to Llwyncelyn and since then has grown from strength to strength, and is continue to increase in pupil numbers. We presently have 307 pupils at the school, and the catchment area includes Ynyshir, Porth, Llwyncelyn, Aberllechau, Glynfach, Cymer, Trabannog and Trehafod.
